Doors to the CityMarch 29, 2007

Station Doors

EXIF:     Aperture Priority, Pattern Metering, EV 0, 1/25 sec, F/8.0, ISO-100, 25 mm (40 mm equivalent)
Camera/Lens:     Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location:     30th Street Station, Philadelphia, PA
Notes:     I took this a couple of weeks ago when I was passing through 30th Street Station on my way home from a meeting just outside of the city. The train station was surprisingly empty around 6:30, but maybe the rush hour here is short. So I took my time taking pictures out the front door. I do feel bad when people think they need to duck around me, worrying that they are getting in my pictures, when really I either don't care at all and I'm willing to wait, or I'm taking a picture of something so much farther away and they wouldn't have gotten in the way anyway, or sometimes I actually want them in my picture. In this case, someone walked out the front door and I was glad he didn't hestitate because it gave me a chance to include him in my picture as he walked through the door. I didn't like the way those pictures turned out, but I definitely preferred the picture with the doors still remaining open to the previous ones I'd taken in which the doors were closed.

Anyway, this photo is rather metaphorical for me this month as I've just started a new job and I feel like the doors to Philadelphia have finally been opened for me.
