Fountain

EXIF:     Aperture Priority, Pattern Metering, EV +1 2/3, 1/320 sec, F/4.5, ISO-400, 33 mm (53 mm equivalent)
Camera/Lens:     Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location:     Johns Hopkins University campus, Baltimore, MD
Notes:     I found this photo on a DVD of old photos from a year ago - this was among the first pictures I took with my new dSLR. I don't know why I never did anything with this picture because I really like it now. I must have had something different in mind when I took the picture and this wasn't what I imagined. Either that or my Photoshopping skills weren't developed enough to know what to do with a photo that was inexplicably 1 2/3 stops overexposed.

(I'm guessing I was trying to shoot to the right, but not surprisingly it was a touch overexposed. In the Adobe Camera Raw editor, I had to bring the exposure back down by -2/3 of a stop. I am not sure whether the final image is truly less noisy as a result of this kind of processing, or whether I would have been better off just shooting it "correctly" to begin with. Maybe it is - for 400 ISO, the noise is in fact surprisingly low.)
