Blue SpringJanuary 30, 2007

Blue Spring

EXIF:     Aperture Priority, Pattern Metering, EV 0, 1/200 sec, F/8.0, ISO-400, 67 mm (107 mm equivalent)
Camera/Lens:     Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT, Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6
Location:     Blue Spring State Park, Orange City, FL
Notes:     This really does look a bit like Disney World to me, as though some park designers cordoned off this area and threw in a bunch of anhingas for the tourists. But I hear that even in Disney World they don't actually contain the birds, but that they just create environments where the birds like to come. So I guess even Disney World is more natural than I usually give it credit for. Anyway, this scene is 100% natural.

Also, I've looked it up but can't find out why they call this place Blue Spring as opposed to Green Spring... Anyone know?

Your shots are beautiful. I was looking up photos of brownstones and I like the picture so much that I kept looking. Your film captures all the beauty. If these pictures were wall size in a gallery everyone would talk as though they had been on vacation and not to a gallery show. Amazing pictures.
