Herons

EXIF:     Aperture Priority, Pattern Metering, EV +2/3, 1/200 sec, F/5.6, ISO-400, 200 mm (320 mm equivalent), cropped
Camera/Lens:     Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT, Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6
Location:     Lake Apopka, FL
Notes:     I have made no secret of my general boredom for bird shots, and my friend Ianqui (who very recently started her own photoblog) caught me in a bird photo yesterday. Well, well, here is another one. It's not very good technically, I'll admit, but I will say that these birds are very cute with their puffed up head feathers.

The thing is that in Florida, it's like a museum. The birds are everywhere, in drainage ditches and on the side of the road, and it's not just a stray heron--it's that heron, an egret, a cormorant, and an anhinga all in the same shot. How can you not want to take pictures of that all day long?
