| Notes: | | I wish I was in Japan right now, but sadly these photos are from last year. I'm going through them all now, a year later, because I have finally learned enough about Photoshop that I think I can salvage several that I thought were lost causes. When I went to Japan last year, I'd just become (re)interested in photography, but hadn't yet learned about shooting in RAW, adjusting white balance, etc. I also didn't really look at any of my photos during the trip (other than in the viewfinder), so I didn't notice that I was taking photo after photo of brightly colored autumn leaves against white skies and that all my trees were fringed with green, blue, and purple. I was so disappointed when I got home and looked at all of them. (Fortunately, the trip itself was so amazing that I didn't care as much about my disastruous photos.) But now I'm trying to apply what I've learned in the past year and see which ones I've can fix up. I'm not sure I can fix white skies, but I should be able to adjust some of them back to their glorious colors. So expect to see lots of photos of autumn in Japan that may look like they were taken just a couple of weeks ago, but were actually taken a year ago at this time. I can't say I'm minding this wonderful trip down memory lane. I'm also going to break my own rule for the very first time and post on my color photoblog without posting anything on my black and white photoblog. I just can't bear to convert some of these autumn colors to black and white! |
