Someone recently told me he thought I was a very good insect photographer. Hm. I suppose I should have been flattered, but quite honestly, insect photography wasn't particularly something I was aiming for. But I guess I do photograph bees and bugs more often than most people do...

P.S. Sorry for the lack of posting lately. My host has been having permissions problems and for the past few days, I haven't been able to post anything.

Whether you were aiming for it or not, you have taken an excellent photo here. The details, the depth of focus and the colors are right on. Surely you asked this bee to hold still for this photo. Well done. How close were you when you took this shot?

Thanks Sean. I was very close to the bee when I took this shot, as close as it looks. :) Fortunately, the bee was too into the flower to care about the lens in his face!

Great shot. You can actually see the bee in action.

I also think you are a good insect photographer! I'm generally really scared of bees, but your shot makes this bee look like a fascinating magical creature (with beautiful wings) out on a delicate errand.

Marvellous bokeh. The colour and composition of this are spot on. Nicely done!

Good macro shot. Composition is sound and the out of focus background, which can often make or break this sort of shot, is good.
