London CityscapeSeptember 26, 2005

Location:     London, UK
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/500 sec, F/4.0, 51 mm, ISO-50
Notes:     I took this photo from the base of the Tower Bridge in London. The tall funky modern building is the new Swiss Re Headquarters (finished last year), and the old stone walls in the foreground are the Tower of London. I really loved the juxtaposition of old and new in downtown London, with the old being much older than anything I might see at home!

And thus ends my UK series. Next up will be photos from a recent trip to NYC. And then, mostly likely, I'll be back to posting the same old mundane photos of flowers and bumblebees in the Baltimore area...

The looks like the tip of a giant vibrator. Who could look at a set of blueprints and think that design is a good idea?

Well, thanks DaB for that insighful comparison. I have to say, that thought didn't occur to me when I took the photo. :)

It could also be a giant suppository...just kidding, although it does have a goofy shape. It did win the Stirling Prize from the Royal Institute of British Architects!
