Houses of ParliamentSeptember 20, 2005

Location:     Houses of Parliament, London, UK
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/640, F/4.0, 7 mm, ISO-50
Notes:     The day before I left London I wandered around the Thames River and just couldn't resist the pull of the London Eye. It cost £12.50 ($23) for a half hour ride, but the view from the Eye was an incredible sight. (Unfortunately I just couldn't get a good shot without a little bit of reflection from the pod window.)

I love the London shots. Reminds me of my trip there. This is my favorite. Makes me wish I'd had a good digital camera when I was there.

When I first saw this shot I was dismayed at the lack of depth. My first reaction was, Why? But now after seeing it a few times, the lack of depth is starting to grow on me as you watch the buildings fade off into the distance, really gives you a sense of how expansive the city really is. That and the clouds add a very interesting mood to the shot.

This really makes me aware of how much we take for granted in the UK... It's a long time since I lived in London but this makes me want to go back... even if just to visit
Thanks!!!
