Flower BedAugust 18, 2005

Location:     Sherwood Gardens, Baltimore, MD
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/250 sec, F/3.5, 23 mm, Super Macro
Notes:     This is the same photo from yesterday, but a slightly different crop, and obviously it's in color. I like it a lot better in color, but I thought I'd try it in black and white and see what I could make of it. In the end, I think it's just too much of a shame to convert these colors into black and white!

One thing I would change if I could retake this photo would be to narrow the aperture a bit. I like the blurry background, but I wish that more of the depth of the flower was in focus.

I'm actually very fond of the b&w version. I only wish there were a little more contrast between the background and the subject in the b&w. I think that here, the color contrast does that work.

The comment that came screaming to my mind when I saw *THIS* flower was...

"WE ARE HERE! WE ARE HERE!"

Is that too obscure?
