Hot TamaleMay 24, 2005

Location:     South of the Border, South Carolina
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/4 sec, F/2.8, 9mm, ISO-50
Notes:     On the way back from Florida, we stopped to see South of the Border. It's a huge themed faux-Mexican rest area off of I-95 in South Carolina. It was 9:30 on a Tuesday night, so the place was almost completely empty, giving it a really surreal campy feel.

You don't think this would have a surreal campy feel even if it were full of people? I don't know--I'm not sure there's much that could save it...

No, you're right Dr. Doodle. It would be surreal and campy no matter how crowded or empty! I think I'll have to stop there again next time we're driving down to find out. Have you ever been there?

Heh - great atmosphere. Feels like a scene from American Graffiti or something.

I love shots like this, Tamara! I'm sure a study could be made of all the billboards, also. Now THERE is a coffee table book. :)
