SunsetApril 09, 2005

Location:     Don Pedro Island, Florida
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:
Notes:     Hello. Me again.

I'm sorry to keep disappearing. I was away last week on a quick vacation to Florida! I spent four days literally on the beach, so there isn't a lot of variety in the pictures I took. I'll try to post something other than sunset photos for the next several days, but I did see some pretty incredible sunsets, so you'll have to indulge me for at least one or two photos. Sorry!

On the technology front, there's a little bit of good news and a little bit of bad. The good news is that my camera seems to be working fine, though the downside is that it doesn't seem to be recording file information when I shoot in RAW. When I upload the photos, Photoshop can't open them because it doesn't recognize them. Has anyone ever had this problem?

The other not so great thing is that my laptop has made another suicide attempt. The latest problem is that it won't start up. No fan. No hard drive. Nothing. Just a few lights indicating that the power is working. But that's it. I'm crossing my fingers that it's the processor, since this is another relatively inexpensive piece to replace compared to the motherboard. This is getting a little frustrating, to say the least!

Anyway, I've got a few photos lined up for the next few days, so please do check back in. I'm going to make every attempt not to disappear again for a while!

Florida! >_< Rawr, You Suck! But your photos are so purdy... Love the colors and refelctions, really like the low angle the shot was taken at. Sorry to hear about the laptop, hope it gets sorted out soon :-\

I love the bubbles. Were you kneeling when you took this?

Actually, Dr. Doodle, I think I was just leaning over, holding the camera low to the ground. With my swivel viewfinder, I don't have to get down on the ground as much anymore!

Wow, looks like my first comment kind of broke... Beautiful colors and reflections, love the low angle the shot was taken at.

WoW!, what a beautiful sunset you recorded. You made me remind my last vacations in Florida... I've never seen the sunsets I saw there.... And this sunset lives up to the fame of the place. You did a great work adding the "bubles" in the foreground making the composition stronger and giving the photograph a greater depth than the typical sunset (like the one I did just five minutes ago.... at home :P). Congratulations for one of the most inspiring and beautiful sunset photographs I've seen lately.

I had a similar problem with my laptop and it turned out to be a bad memory slot.

Wow Tamara! This is an awesome shot of the sunset near the beach. I am loving the colors and the whole feeling. I can stare at this all day and not be bored.. do you have a larger size of this photo? I would like to use this for my wallpaper.

Thanks!

If not even the fan is starting maybe is the power adapter that is not able to recharge completely drained batteries. Do you have a way to check if there is any charge left in the batteries, and if the adapter is actually doing anything?

I like this photo for the illusion of scale: the bubbles in the foam seem huge because the foam itself seem larger than probably is compared to the waves in the background.
