Red LinesMarch 24, 2005

Location:     U.S. Botanic Garden, Washington, D.C.
Camera:     Canon PowerShot A80
EXIF:
Notes:     This will be the last of my visitor's photos for a little while (i.e., about two weeks). I completely over-estimated the amount of time I'd have this week to take photos, so I don't actually have any of my own to show you yet. Fortunately, I have some by others still left to post!

Photographer: stillman (www.bluecricket.com)

"taken at the united states botanic garden on the mall in dc. couldn't resist the vibrant red/green contrast"

I actually requested this one from him because I love how abstract it is, how bright the red is, and how it contrasts with the organic green of the leaf. I wonder what the whole leaf looks like, but I suspect I prefer this framing of it.

I've also posted another of stillman's photos on my black and white photoblog (also one I requested after looking through his photos on his own website).

As for my own situation, I am hopefully awaiting the arrival of my new hard drive this afternoon. Which means I hope to be back on my laptop within a couple of days.

I also received acknowledgment from Canon that they have received my camera. Let's hope they fix its recent problems and this time they don't send it back with new problems! In the meantime, I will, of course, go out and take pictures with the trusty ol' PowerShot S30. I'm getting quite attached to it at this point!

~hmmmmmm, I/eye dig it, the unique hue of red of the veins of the plant...seems that the greenish tones are a bit varied/light in areas, possibly burning selectively would even them out...~
