Beautiful Photo, I can't decide which one I like better, both are awesome. I think the BW image helps to focus more on the shapes but the color image has brilliant colors. Posted by: JYOSEPH ! at March 2, 2005 12:53 PM
like them both, but I think the color one is more arresting. did you just use a single channel to make the b&W? Looks good. Posted by: kyle at March 3, 2005 02:17 AM
Hey, nice to see you extended your "Gates-session". This is another great angle, love the contrast between the orange and the sky... Posted by: flygirl at March 3, 2005 06:32 AM
Kyle, I don't quite remember what I did with the b&w one. I really have to remember to start saving my conversions as .psd and not .jpg so I can recover that kind of information. If I remember correctly, that conversion was either solely on the green channel or it used the green channel rather heavily in comparison to the other two. I like your color version best, but the other one is nice too. I like your gates photos. I wish I could have seen it in real life- people seemed quite into this gates thing. Posted by: les at March 12, 2005 05:49 AM
No doubt. The colour version works better adding some dimension to the final result. The black and white version is a nice echo play of lines but the colour version adds "spirit" to the photograph. Very well seen. Only drawback is the slight blue colour cast in the highlights. Easily fixable through PS :D. Well done!. Posted by: Rafa at March 14, 2005 05:19 PM
i really like how the textures in the fabric came out in the photo with the subtle shadows. it works. Posted by: potty at March 16, 2005 11:57 AM
