cool noise! what's your setting here? Posted by: ren at February 7, 2005 01:12 PM
not sure about this one tamara... there's too much noise for my taste and also: the top-right is a little blown out. i *do* like the red background. i also liked your previous shot! :-) Posted by: frisky? at February 7, 2005 02:10 PM
Is this noise or grain? I really like the red color, but I feel this whisk shot doesn't hold up as well as your black and white twirly whisk picture. The lines and shadows don't seem as attention-grabbing. Maybe it is the straightess of the lines combined with the non-unusual perspective? Did you try any other perspectives? Hm. I wasn't sure about posting this photo because I'm not terribly happy with it, but I thought I'd go ahead and do it without commentary to see if you all felt about it the way I do. And you do. :) To answer your specific questions, this is not noise per se, but grain that I added in Photoshop. I was hoping to salvage the blown out areas in the top right that frisky? noticed, so I guess it didn't work. I also didn't think this was a very strong photo in terms of composition, so I was hoping the grain would add something interesting. I guess it just goes to show that you can't necessarily make any photograph good just by using Photoshop. :) Posted by: luminouslens at February 7, 2005 11:49 PM
I agree with Frisky?. Noise/Grain woes. Sometimes it adds those rgb colors in if the iso is too high. I think that it was good to post this for the feedback!! Posted by: emptytheater at February 10, 2005 06:41 PM
