I love the gritty detail of this one! The color works well.
There is something slightly off about the DoF...I wish it receded from sharp to unfocused more gradually, along the breadth of the step?

I think that the DOF drops off so dramatically because I was taking the photo straight at the front of the brick, so there really isn't any room for it to recede gradually!

Did you see this photo I posted on my black and white photoblog? Is that more like what you were thinking? I think the DOF drops off dramatically there too (but less so than in the color photo)...that's because I was using the super macro feature on my camera and the DOF is tiny!)

That's spectacular detail. It's amazing how we can walk on something everyday, and not realize how intricate it really is. I guess that's why photography is such a great medium. Cool shot.
