Notes:     Below is an updated version based on Btezra's suggestions: "~a fine job here with the DOF...a couple suggestions: clone out the bright white blotch bottom right, and see what happens when you apply some of the unsharp mask in Photoshop, I beleieve it would bring out a bit more detail and leave the viewer with a much stronger visual impact...nicely seen subject matter!~"

Regarding the white blotch, I had it in there to balance out the white window at the top. However, I had actually been considering posting a version in which I cropped it out, but I didn't like the resulting frame ratio as much. It hadn't occurred to me to clone it out.

I also used the unsharp mask here, but I think because this is already a crop from the original, I can't make it much sharper without it beginning to look artificial. So here it is with as much sharpening as I think it can take.

Do you see much of a difference between this photo and the one I posted originally? Personally I don't see a difference in sharpness, but I wonder if it's getting lost in the conversion to a lower-res jpg? Have these changes have helped any?

~a bit more definition in the beads of water and w/out the white blotch there are no distractions in the frame...nice editing w/ the clone tool!~

nice editting...the cloning was absolutely flawless =) the bottom part of the second one definitely is blurrier....nice job

Nice! I like the edited version a lot. The sharpening makes the tiny droplets on top of the bar pop, and removing the white blur at the bottom is an improvement.

There is a big difference in sharpness. Take a look at the water droplets as visual field said

I agree with others ... the sharpness is definitely noticeable in the 2nd image.

Really? It's amazing to me how subtle it is to me, and I don't know, if I mixed up the pictures, if I could tell which was which (well, except that one has a bit spot cloned out!).

but I will take the word of all the people who *can* see it. You know... could it be my web settings or something? Because I *could* see the difference when I was looking at them in photoshop, but as soon as I threw it up on the web, the difference in sharpness seemed to disappear for me.

It's those tiny little drops of water on the bar (the hundreds of them) that make me really like this.

yah that second image is a touch sharper, the little droplets pop now and rock too :)
