i love this one...did you take this recently? like the other night? it is beautiful Posted by: lostgal at October 24, 2004 10:15 AM
I took this picture on Friday afternoon in the sculpture garden at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Thankfully there were only a couple of people in the garden because I nearly laid on the ground to take this shot. (I am still getting used to the flip out viewfinder on my new camera and I completely forgot to use it in this case!) Posted by: tamara at October 24, 2004 12:31 PM
Lying on the ground should be nothing to be ashamed of to grt a great shot like this! Posted by: NiC at October 31, 2004 02:53 AM
I'll add my praise to others responding to this picture! Posted by: Joyce at November 1, 2004 03:18 PM
I like it because the leaf looks like it's on its knees, center stage, just after finishing a Broadway ballad of some sort - which fits with how he's translucent and also how he's this sort of flamboyant/celebratory red. (I don't know why I think the leaf is a he . . .) Posted by: Joan at November 3, 2004 02:29 PM
This is not a profound comment, but I think it's cute how the leaf looks like it's dancing. :) Posted by: chiaroscuro at December 2, 2004 07:15 PM
I hadn't seen this one before; it's very nice. The bright upper left is a little distracting. If you crop down from the top to eliminate this area, you lose only a bit of the leaf, and you gain (at least for me) by making the leaf look more obviously like a performer.
