Dusk

EXIF:     Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metering, EV +1, 8 sec, F/8.0, ISO-100, 25 mm (40 mm equivalent)
Camera/Lens:     Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location:     Philadelphia, PA
Notes:     In spite of the great view, I actually hate being out on our fire escape because I hate heights. I did it this past weekend when I was testing the sharpness of my lenses and wanted a scene with some distance, but it was slightly windy and I couldn't bring myself to get out this far on the fire escape so the building next door ended up in my pictures. Tonight I thought I'd go up again now that the wind was much less and I made my way out to the end for a better shot. I think it's funny that the long exposure captured the slight breeze, and when I look at this picture, it looks terrifying to me all over again.

I once took a photographer to New Orleans, where much to our surprise, we had the chance to shoot from a bank's downtown cupola ~ we did the spiral stairs, the walk-about was maybe a rickety foot or so wide. The poor guy -- oh my -- was so afraid of heights. But he couldn't let the opportunity pass and shot for as long as he could stand it. (Nice cityscape, yours!!)
