White Light photoblog (color)

The NeighborhoodFebruary 27, 2006

Location:     N. Calvert Street, Charles Village, Baltimore, MD
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/1000 sec, F/4.0, 23 mm (89 mm equivalent), ISO-50
Notes:     For Lostgal, who's away from Baltimore traveling the world.

And I just noticed, she put up a new banner image on her blog that I photographed and designed for her!

P.S. Can anyone help with what's wrong with this exposure? I brightened it a bit in post-processing, but I feel like this still looks a little flat. The light was somewhat mellow that day (for lack of a better word), but could have I adjusted the exposure in a way to give this more punch? Is this underexposed??

about the underexposed pic, i think you may be right, tonally it is missing a bright white and dark black. perhaps that is it? i still like it, it reminds me of old photographs.

Thanks Katie. So do you think it would have been improved by either a wider aperture or a slower shutter speed, to let in more light? I'm not sure what I should have done differently when taking this...
