Concrete GardenFebruary 03, 2006

Location:     Baltimore Museum of Art Sculpture Garden, Baltimore, MD
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/60 sec, f/5.6, 38 mm (148 mm equivalent), ISO-50
Notes:     I was really in the mood for some concrete today, so I stopped by the BMA Sculpture Garden on my way home. I was specifically shooting for black and white, and I think I'll have to take this approach more often. Usually I am only thinking in color and it's not until I'm sitting in front of the computer looking through my photos that I even think about which ones to convert. But today, although I took the photo in color, I "saw" it in black and white in my mind.

And then, of course, I ended up liking a sepia conversion the best. I feel like it emphasizes the textures of the concrete walls and the wooden bench while still retaining a lot of the brightness of the afternoon light. But what do you think? Here it is in black and white and here it is in color.

I agree with your sepia choice, as it preserves some of the "organic" feeling of the stained wall.
