Domino SugarJanuary 26, 2006

Location:     Domino Sugar Factory, Baltimore, MD
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/800, F/5.6, 30 mm (117 mm equivalent), ISO-50
Notes:     I had jury duty today in downtown Baltimore, so I took the opportunity to take some photos downtown during the lunch break. I underestimated how cold it was today so I was freezing without a hat and scarf down by the water, wearing only a light spring jacket. But whenever I'm actually in the process of taking photos it's as though time, space, and temperature cease to matter. It's only once I stop taking pictures that I realize what time it is and that I can no longer feel my hands.

This view of the Domino Sugar Factory is one of the quintessential scenes of Baltimore that has been photographed and painted and sold a thousand times over.

Heh. Very old-timey postcard. I like it.

The vignetting works well... as if the scene is seen with a binocular on a boat approaching the coast.
