I think I like the B&W better than the color, actually. While the colors are beautiful I think the prize you get from following all the curves of the tubes is just wonderful. I'm just wondering if you can do something so that there are more tones (?) or something to help pull the B&W tubes apart a little more?

Btw, I really like everything you've posted since you returned from your trip. Just beautiful!

Hey Homunculus, I agree that I should be able to pull the tubes apart more, but I just couldn't do any more tones / contrast than this. I really don't know how people do it!

I'll give it another go, but if you feel like trying it out too, please do!

Glad you're enjoying the photos from the trip because there are lots more to come. Don't expect a photo from Baltimore for quite a while... :)

I like the bw version. I think it came out really well. I agree with Homunculus's idea of pulling the tubes apart so that they are more distinct. It would be even more dramatic! I think it's hard to do though because the reds, oranges, and yellows are all close together on the color wheel, so when you convert them to bw they look similar. (That's just a guess.)

This is a really cool shot, great composition and contrast =)

I like the color one better. I would zoom in closer to see the mish-mash of colors and forms.
