Location:     Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore, MD
Camera:     Canon PowerShot Pro1
EXIF:     1/320 sec, F/8, 7 mm, ISO-50
Notes:     I often feel self-conscious as I compose a photo and I'm quite sure the people around me are wondering what I could possibly be taking a picture of. But while I was composing this photo, two women walked by and smiled at me. They each carried an expression which I'm coming to recognize, but I can't exactly explain. It's as if they sort of enjoy seeing me taking pictures, in the same way that you smile when you pass a happy couple or a playing child. Maybe I look like I'm doing something artsy and that makes them happy? Like they've stumbled upon a moment that I was enjoying and they're saying that they enjoyed it too? In any case, it's better than the quizzical looks I often get when people can't understand what I'm doing!

Maybe they were aligned, for an instant, with the same angle you were, and they saw the fleeting geometry that you just captured... and smiled in pleasant surprise for having you made them to see an instant of beauty.

Nicely said Massimo.

I really enjoy the symmetry and perspective in this photo. It has a wonderful disorienting feel to it especially since you can't tell the scale.

Great shot. My eyes are taken around the whole picture, then around again, and so on. I like the lines within the lines (the mortar lines within the lines of the steps).

Excellent composition on this one! This is one worth revisiting in different light and weather.
