![]() I couldn't decide whether I liked this better in color or in black and white, so you get to see both this time. The color one is posted here. Camera: Canon Powershot S30 | |

Do you use the same camera for both the colors and b/w's and just digitally take the color out or use two different cameras? Posted by: Jeff Price at February 17, 2005 08:52 AM
Jeff, in fact, this is the exact same photo as the one posted on my color photoblog. For the black and white version, I simply made a copy of the file and converted it to black and white. My camera can take photos in black and white, but I prefer to shoot in color and then use Photoshop to convert it to black and white since I can better control how the conversion is calculated. That's neat. We have a painting in our bedroom that is a close up of a white rose (http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/30503_PE119086_S4.jpg) set on a dark brick red wall. I have been thinking about taking a couple b/w images of the painting, printing smaller versions to hang on either side. But I wasn't sure how a b/w image of something that is mostly white would really look all that different. I have Photoshop, but am a novice. I am curious how you control the conversion?
