NettingJanuary 25, 2005

This was taken as part of a self-assigned project that I and a few other local photobloggers agreed to do. We thought it would be interesting to take photos of the same object to see how differently each of us would treat it. We assigned ourselves a small-scale object (an onion, as you see here) and a large-scale object (the Mattin Arts Center, which I'll post at some point later this week).

Some of our photos were similar to one another (how many different views can you get of an onion), but some really stood out, like this one from Visual Field.

Visual Field is way ahead of us here and has a few other photos up: an onion abstract and a sculpture from the arts center. I'll link to the others when (and if) they post their shots.

Go here to see another photo from my onion series.

I can't believe no one has commented on this shot... Excellent DOF and the detail in the netting and the onion really adds to it. The tones really make it shine :)

sorry i didn't comment when you posted the image. life gets too hectic sometimes. anyway, great image, love the pattern and the highlights gleaming off the netting. i like the reverse light and dark spots from right to left. excellent shot.

This is excellent, and I'm not even going to suggest a tighter crop :)
