You know, all your photos are good, but your creativity is comes out wonderful here. Posted by: Anand Sankaran at January 10, 2005 03:20 PM
wow, what a great abstract composition. it's all paisley... Posted by: craig at January 10, 2005 04:31 PM
This one is fantastic. Great perspective and I love the way it glows all around. Posted by: Simon at January 10, 2005 11:18 PM
This one is pretty :) Is it paint? When I first saw it I thought it was the craziest REAL snowflake I had ever seen... Upon further investigation however I'm guessing it's paint on a window given the fact that it was shot at a hotel. Either way, I like! Posted by: Chris at January 11, 2005 02:10 AM
Great photo. Did you do any post-processing on this, to get the graininess around the lights?? Posted by: Matt at January 11, 2005 02:01 PM
Chris - Nope, this isn't even a fake snowflake. It's a chandelier, viewed from directly below. Matt - Yes, I have to admit, there is a lot of post-processing on this one! I added a diffuse glow with a lot of graininess around the selected chandelier. I hope that's not disappointing! Most of my other photos are fairly Photoshop clean (other than adjusting some levels and contrast), but this chandelier struck me as something that could be gussied up a bit, as the glass was already pretty sparkly itself. I thought it needed something more to make it really shine. Posted by: luminouslens at January 11, 2005 02:11 PM
Err... Chandelier was my second guess... I swear... X_x I think the post-processing is excellent, definitely gets two thumbs up from me, not to mention totally threw me off :P Posted by: Chris at January 12, 2005 02:40 AM
this images is spectacular! the post works really well here but i believe you had a strong image to work with in the first place. beautiful lighting, detail and textures. Posted by: zerosun at January 13, 2005 09:22 AM
Great job. This is creative and exceptionally different. Love the textures and glow. Posted by: Mark at January 13, 2005 07:31 PM
Awesome composition, and the post-processing really makes this come alive in an eerie way. The choice of black and white and the square crop work perfectly. Posted by: Ciro at January 20, 2005 10:14 AM
